I personally think that a night mode would be awesome, but the chances of it ever becoming a thing are very low. I'd honestly really like some sort of mode in the game (maybe an expert mode) where you could run around at night and explore the area and all bulborbs are awake, lurking around. I don't know why but I just think that it would be awesome. However, as mentioned above, it would be a drastic change. Reading this I just imagined attack on Titian.

How would having a night mode be a bad thing? for casual players they could ignore it and play the game normally and for experienced players they would have the option to play a harder version of the game with lowering their "total amounts of days spent" score as a reward.

It would be bad because it defeats the whole purpose of "leaving the Surface" at SunSet... Because even tho the Pikmin have self sustainablity without captains, there's something on the surface that can still overwhelm even 100 pikmin. Throwing a captain down would do nothing to help them.

Again, this would be an OPTIONAL thing. You could finish the game without using night mode once.

Again, this would be an OPTIONAL thing. You could finish the game without using night mode once. Then how would you "unlock" this optional game mode? In Pikmin 1, you unlocked levels as you unlocked the Areas, in Pikmin 2, you had to get The Key, in Pikmin 3, you unlocked Boss Battles as you defeated the bosses.

Based on how you were listing game modes that aren't story mode, I'm assuming that you think that night mode is an entirely separate mode? Night mode isn't a totally separate mode. It's part of story mode, it just lets you explore at night. But anyway, in my previous post I mentioned an upgrade that would unlock night mode. The way I see it, it would increase the leaders' courage, so they'd be brave enough to spend one night on the planet's surface. Also, you couldn't collect this upgrade until at least halfway through the game, if not later, so the players would be forced to spend daytime exploring for at least half the game. Even then, I described things that balance out night mode, as you and several others believe it would ruin the strategy element of Pikmin.

This is basically saying "Lets remove the time limit from Pikmin"

This is basically saying "Lets remove the time limit from Pikmin" The time limit from Pikmin was removed in Pikmin 2 and barely noticeable in Pikmin 3. by your logic the Pikmin series broke in 2004. the amounts of Days you beat the game in is basically just a high score thing at this point

There should be an unlockable mode after the game's completion where you can only work at night. Like Zelda's Hero Mode.

Hero's mode could work, as long as it's well executed. Red bulborbs get upgraded to orange, theyre all awake, more enemies, etc. Fewer pellet posies, meaning you'd half to kill enemies. Also, being darker, with a few brightish lights.
