The series as a whole, possibly Smash Bros and Pikmin Adventure as well. Any favourite tracks, least favourites? Any one song that wasn't used enough? Provide links if you can. For me personally, my favourite area track is the Wistful Wild from 2. It doesn't feel too much like a final area song but still is great to listen to and is entirely fitting. I quite like the Beady Long Legs fight music from 1 as well. It's a pretty short track, but is quite menacing and helps cement the boss as an actual threat. Playlists for convenience Pikmin Pikmin 2 Pikmin 3

I'm all over it. The Pikmin series has my favorite soundtrack of any game series. It so captures the mood of the game, and engages player attention and direction exactly how the game needs it to. If anyone has any questions about the soundtrack, I probably have the answer. I've analyzed the music theory and composition behind Pikmin music more than I have with any other game series, mainly after writing the music articles on Pikipedia. If you care to read what I have to say (there's a lot of info to describe) here's the link; also thanks to Espyo for organization and PikFan23 and En_Passant for help with little-used cave music in Pikmin 2.My favorites probably have to be split game to game. As a musician and composer, I admire the complexity of these the most. I hope to keep creating arrangements and derivative works of this music, it's so fun to arrange!
Also I've been considering starting a weekly-updated page on here (in "Off-Topic Discussion") where I showcase some particular video game music and discuss its composition and why it works. Thoughts?

I really enjoyed those music articles, even as someone not musically inclined, and the weekly thread seems like more of that, so that's some thing I'll look out for. Personally I prefer Pikmin 1's credits theme to the rest but the others are still great. The Valley of Repose and Distant Spring took quite a while to grow on me, but they are some of my favourites now. The Pikmin 3 tracks are great as well, A Rainy Day, Formidable Oak, and Twilight River being some of my favourites. I love the dynamic aspect of the Pikmin soundtracks, how they change in minor ways depending on what's happening, especially the Titan Dweevil's boss theme, with how many weapons it has, what weapon it's using, there's ten tracks or so dedicated to this one boss and it helps spice up the fight a bit.

I defenetly think the pikmin soundtrack is one of the best. I really love the titan dweevil's orchestra. But one of the best parts is defenetly the night music for all the stages in the first game.

I don't necessarily like any one song in Pikmin 2, but I love how each one has either swing or no swing depending on if you're playing as Olimar or Louie/President.

I don't have any particular favorite songs but i must say that dweevil's dugout in pikmin 2 is my least favorite. I also dislike many of the pikmin 2 cave tracks.

The Pikmin soundtracks I feel have the perfect mixture of goofy songs, and calm songs as well as their fair share of intense music (boss fights mostly) If I were to choose a favorite song from each of the soundtracks I'd probably say Pikmin: The Impact Site Pikmin 2: Citadel Of Spiders Sublevel 4 (Near an Enemy) Pikmin 3: Pretty much every piece of music that plays at the Twilight River

I think Pikmin does have a fitting soundtrack, but not outstanding by any means. Many other games have much better songs (like Final Fantasy, Zelda, Xemoblade, Kirby, etc.). I don't think that is an issue though, as Pikmin doesn't need an AMAZING soundtrack as much as a fitting and atmospheric one.
As for my favorites Pikmin 2: World Map song Pikmin 3: SS Drake by far (That song is really good)

I liked Pikmin 2's soundtrack the most, and mostly it and some of Pikmin 1 had tunes that stuck with me.
Pikmin - Forest of Hope
Pikmin 2 - Wistful Wild for overground theme. I liked the Underground music more: Mystic March, Graphite Gulch, and Ramp/Railroad Room were pretty awesome.
Pikmin 3 - Twilight River and Distant Tundra sounded nice.
