This would be an obstacle for any type of Pikmin, sort of a mixture of the ideas of a canonical wall and paper bag. Pikmin thrown onto the fence would climb to the top to try and topple it with their weight; after a weight requirement is met, the fence would topple and would become a transportable building block for a bridge or climbing fence elsewhere. Alternate versions could also be electrified, meaning the weight requirement could only be satisfied by Yellow Pikmin, or could require a weight higher than 100 (for Purple Pikmin). In my fanon game Pikmin Forever, the metal version of the fence could also be salvaged after it is toppled, since metal objects are the primary collectibles in the game. But this would sacrifice a potential bridge/climbing-wall piece, so the options would have to be strategically considered.

I like this for the most part, a wall that the pikmin climb up sounds cool, using it as a bridge or being able to use it to climb to other places also sounds cool, but only in certain circumstances.

I can totally imagine some Arachnodes walking around and preying on Pikmin who try to climb the fence. Or some other fence-dwelling monster. Speed-runners could try sending Pikmin up the fence without bothering to kill the enemies, but it would be much harder to pull off. As for the collectible fences, the idea of having to strategize which you collect and which you use to make bridges could be interesting, but also frustrating if the player collects them and ends up being unable to proceed. I'd personally advise that those fences should be extra fences that you can either use to boost your collectible count but make it harder to continue, or use them to get to bonus collectibles. Just my 2 cents though.

I sure like the idea, but it'd be hard to implement moving the fence somewhere else without a dedicated interface.
