This was a comment I made on Dazz's 11/15/15 Pikmin 4 speculation video, I thought I should also post the idea on here, so if it seems worded strange for a Forum post, that is why: I think an area INDOORS would be cool. Not like a cave, but an area that takes place entirely inside of an abandoned building. I think a factory or a warehouse would be especially appealing. Plus these areas could be MASSIVE, since you are so tiny, so even a house, let alone a warehouse, would seem ginormous to the player. This could work very well if my idea for a seamlessly open world Pikmin 4 (like in Xenobldae X, Here is my post about it: pikipedia.freeforums.net/thread/54/pikmin-4-open-world-game) was implemented. You could just walk into this building from the other areas of the massive world, which would allow you to see the outside of the building, giving a sense of size for the area. Inside, the aesthetic could be very metallic or rusty, similar to the Pikmin 2 caves or the DLC Pikmin 3 stages, having both pits and conveyor belts, and maybe more mechanics like cranes, boxes, assorted machines, and even messing with the building's electric system.

That's a really interesting idea! I had always enjoyed the Glutton's Kitchen and Shower Room, and I found the Fortress of Festivity and other challenges in Pikmin 3 to give a nice clean contrast to the natural shapes of outdoor areas. Hopefully that'll catch on in Pikmin 4, at least somewhere.
I know the Pikmin series is also about showcasing a vivid natural environment, though, so the best of both worlds could be a greenhouse with topiary furnishings and structures like birdhouses, birdbaths, rock gardens, etc. Personally though, my big indoor area of choice would be a huge wooden block castle, like the Jigsaw Colosseum but bigger. I guess it depends on what the next Pikmin installment will have us collecting.
