So what did you guys think of the direct earlier today? My thoughts...were..well...lackluster
T'was a shame to not see anything Pikmin related. but I wasn't really expecting it. Seems like more of an E3 thing.
Biggest disappointment was Paper Mario: Sticker Star 2-I mean Color Splash
Best thing shown for me was all the Kirby stuff. The new amiibo look pretty gud and Panet Robobot sold me on concept alone. A Kirby Action RPG? Sign me up!
...And that's all I can really say about the direct. It was there.

I'm getting ready for people to over react and say it was awful even thought it wasn't because people keep think Wii U is going to have a great line up even thought its on its last freaking year. Why do people think it is supposed to have a legendary lineup this year??? Nintendo systems rarely have good last years, from what I can tell, Wii U may be having one of the best.
Everyone should have liked this Direct. There really wasn't too much in it for me, so I should dislike it the most, yet I don't which makes no sense.
Actual Thoughts: It was fine. The lineup shouldn't be what we judge in a Direct, but we should judge its presentation. It was fine, it had a small bit of E3 2015itis. No, that doesn't mean it had a horrible lineup or was a bad show, but it did have a few pacing problems. Games like Paper Mario (which we shouldn't assume anything about it quite yet because they barely showed anything) had very little info shown, while Games like Metroid FF or FE Fates had too long or even unnecessary segments. Even still, most games were well paced. The content was fine, nothing outstanding like (December 2014 or 2013, January 2013, or January 2015) but it had some cool new announcements, and some good details on past announcements.
Personal Highs: DQ VII (and VIII?), Bravely Second, Kirby,
Things I liked but aren't super hype: Super Mario Maker, Splatoon?, I would put Rhythm Heaven in the Personal Highs part but I already have the Japanese version so...
Lows: Paper Mario??? Again, we barely know anything about it, but that is my biggest concern. Its an RPG coming out this year, so if its being announced with so little info, I have to think that is a bad sign.

May I also point out how lucky Japan is. We get all of these okay SPlatfest themes which aren't enough to make me spend a whole day doing Splatfest, and then Japan comes along and has a DRAGON QUEST THEMED SPLATFEST!!!
Why can't we get those here... I mean I know why we wont get that here but I can still want it.

Over the years i have learned to not get hyped about anything, it's really paying off.

Over the years i have learned to not get hyped about anything, it's really paying off. Yup. Nintendo is great at killing its fans' hype...especially that of the Zelda fans. And Pikmin fans. Nintendo's actions these past few years have been very, VERY questionable.

Haha, I wish it was 3-3-15 direct, that way it would of been a good direct.

I think people seem to forget that A. Nintendo can only show their current lineup for currently announced systems, so no NX quite yet, and B. Nintendo Directs ARE NOT there to hype you up. Yes some do, but the on;y evebt who sole purpose is to hype you is E3. Nintendo Directs are to remind people of, update people on, and most importantly MARKET games which are releasing soon.

I was very happy with this direct. Mario Maker updates, Splatoon updates, Paper Mario, (probably won't get it, but glad they are still releasing games for the wii u) Star Fox Guard, (probably will get it because I like the concept) and those Kirby amiibos. (which are tight)

I was also pretty glad when I realized it wasn't 6 minutes long.
I mean, I wasn't expecting Pikmin 4, or anything at all, so it was surprisingly good.
