Would you want to see caves make a return in Pikmin 4?
Personally I would rather not have caves and make the world larger. Either that or have caves but have the time still go on inside the caves. Also with caves if they do make a return i hope they have more variability. Pikmin 2 had "random" caves but were really just separated into a few parts that were randomly connected so you had every part of the sublevel just in different areas. With caves i also hope they make more themes. In pikmin 2 the themes like rust and shower tiles got really repetitive quick in my opinion.

I don't see Nintendo or Miyamoto going with it. I know other would love it but I would personally prefer a more over world based game, only larger than Pikmin 3

A larger world would be nice, but I would rather have a larger game. The caves in pikmin 2 were easy to make in bulk, however since we are in a age of high-end visuals and such, making a randomly generated cave system like the one in pikmin 2 but with pikmin 3 visuals would be very complicated for them to make.
That being said I do expect something similar. It may not be in the form of caves, and if it is it would most likely be heavily altered, however I do expect a "sub-game" which allows for a much longer story mode.

I think the point I am trying to make is that instead of having caves, directly integrate the puzzles into the overworld. And I don't mean as in buildings or other separate areas, I mean straight into the overworld. From Nintendo's perspective, I see that more likely but IDK

I wouldn't mind caves in Pikmin 4 if they gave it a bit of an overhaul. Specifically, having there be less caves and subfloors, but larger floors that are aren't as copy pasted and not randomly generated. The simplicity of the caves made it easy to make new content, at the cost of having them blend together a bit with few exceptions like the Submerged Castle, so doing this would make me enjoy them a bit more. Add in a time limit and I would probably be set.

I want pregenerated caves, not Pikmin2's rnadom generation. Random generation can only do so much for a game, usually one without story, say Minecraft or Ark. Pikmin doesn't need random generation for caves.

I enjoyed the caves in Pikmin 2, and I hope they do return. It doesn't have to be randomly generated since it would be hard to do today with the new graphics and possibility of using the KopPad to view the surroundings etc, just with Sublevels and bosses like in Pikmin 2.
