So there was a post on reddit recently where someone brought light to a few Dutch retailer websites that listed "Pikmin World" as an upcoming game. I wanted to make this post to show how this is inaccurate. Here are some of the retailer's sites: Intertoysbart smit
So why shouldn't we take this for word? Well first of all you need to know, Pikmin World wasn't the only title listed. They also have a Smash Brothers Game, Assasin's Creed Egypt, and Mario Rabbid's Invasion, as well as some listings for games that have already been confirmed. Secondly the dates for Pikmin World and Assassin's Creed Egypt are March 24th, and March 17th for Mario Rabbid's Invation, which are already hard to believe given they haven't been spoken about officially. Smash bros is listed for 2nd quarter 2017. So what if just the dates are wrong? Well, take a look at this article. Look at the games listed. All of the ones we've listed here, are present with the exact names and dates, as well as many game titles and dates that have been proven incorrect, such as Super Mario Frost Land, Mariokart 8: Switch it!, Splatoon Counterattack. They also said that the date for the switch's launch was march 17th, and all of their launch titles with the exception of breath of the wild are false. Well, as the article explains, these were posted on a dutch website, and this article is dated BEFORE the Switch Presentation. Not enough proof? Here is a reddit post from before the switch presentation, linking directly the the false bart smit listings. Lastly I must say that I feel this whole "Pikmin World" rumor started from this fanon article.

I'm not sure, we haven't had a new Pikmin game announcement yet. About the fangame, it wouldn't really make sense to add Metal Pikmin... at least, ability-wise. They're Red, White, and Purple Pikmin mashed into one... It'll make Purple useless unless you want to carry something heavy(Metal Pikmin are resistant to wind AND are faster), and can be taken into areas instead of Red and White Pikmin.
Take this with a grain of salt, we haven't heard anything about Pikmin for the Switch...
yet...
The thought of it makes me both hyped, yet, somewhat disappointed, because I know there might not be a Pikmin game for quite some time, yet, the thought of a new Pikmin title makes me hyped, yet somewhat disappointed, because I know there might not be another Pikmin game for a while, yet, the thought of a new title makes me hyped, yet...
Ugh.
