TL;DR: keep in mind that you should follow THIS GUIDE if there's some info or footage revealed at E3.
The year is 2016. Nintendo's E3 conference is a few days away. We were promised nothing except Zelda news, but the hype is too strong to listen to that. Fast forward to a few hours after Nintendo unveils the hottest new Pikmin 4 trailer, or storyboard, or what have you. Naturally, this goes straight into the wiki at the speed of light. But slow down there, bucko! If you just dump images or information all willy-nilly, that WILL come back to bite us later.
If we just take an extra second to add some categories and data to our uploads and contributions regarding a new game, it'll be a tremendous help in the long run. With Pikmin 3, most images on the wiki got dumped without much organization, which made it a nightmare to clean up later. From images with juicy prerelease content hidden away inside the wiki for countless years, to several duplicates of the same image, to a LOT of files with garbage names. Not a pretty sight.
I wrote up a quick guide that we should all follow when we want to add stuff about a new game. You don't need to do many special things, but they really help in the long run. Of course I'll be around to make sure new content gets added and organized as smoothly as possible, but please make my job easier by taking the extra effort to follow the guide carefully, okay? I may have to give a bit of a smack to those that rapid-fire uploads without a single care... This guide will also apply to new media that isn't just games, and to news we get outside of E3. I'll also publish a notification box on the wiki when appropriate, to help remind people. With all of that said, here's a link to the guide: www.pikminwiki.com/User:Espyo/New_game_reveal_guide. Feel free to give suggestions!
So what do you think? Are we getting ANYTHING Pikmin-related? Or is it seriously going to be just Zelda UNX? Can't wait for them to say the game's in development and finish their E3 after five minutes.
